Synopsis

Natural Products in Biomedical Research: Frontiers in Medicine brings together contemporary insights into the therapeutic, biochemical, and translational potential of natural compounds in modern healthcare. Due to increasing interest of the people in nature-derived bioactive compounds for disease prevention and treatment, the requirement for an extensive and research focused resource has never been greater. This book addresses that requirement via demonstrating advancements in the fields of phytochemistry, pharmacology, biotechnology, and nanomedicine by highlighting how natural products continue to shape the frontiers of biomedical science. The chapters in this book provide a broad and multidimensional overview of current research/clinical progress and future directions in the field.

This book is edited by Dr. Muhammad Umar Ijaz, Assistant Professor at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, whose extensive contributions in the fields of physiology, toxicology, pharmacology, and natural product research have played a pivotal role in shaping the scientific depth and direction of this book. Co-editor, Prof. Dr. Asma Ashraf, Professor at Government College University, Faisalabad, brings further expertise in biological sciences and research leadership. Together, the editors have assembled a collection that not only emphasizes the importance of natural products in traditional, complementary and alternative medicine but also encourages future research via integrating biological, chemical and medical technologies. It is our hope that this book serves as a valuable reference for researchers, clinicians, academicians, and students dedicated to advancing biomedical science through the lens of natural product research.
